LS) 2020 Hiring Situation revealed that 661,000 jobs were created during the month of September. The unemployment rate edged down to 7.9% last month. Bars and restaurants added the most jobs in September (200,000), followed by retail, health care and white-collar businesses. The U.S. has recovered about 11.4 million jobs since the recovery got underway in May. 

Although the healthcare sector added 57,600 jobs in September, hospitals lost 6,400 jobs last month. Healthcare job growth was driven by large gains in ambulatory care settings, which added 52,800 jobs in September. The healthcare unemployment rate in September was 4.5%, with 2.0% unemployment in hospital settings.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) August 2020 Hiring Situation, nearly 1.4 million jobs were added to payrolls last month as the economic recovery continues on. The unemployment rate also continued to decline, dipping to 8.4% in August from 10.2% in July. These improvements in the labor market reflect the continued resumption of economic activity that had been curtailed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and efforts to contain it.

Albany Medical Center is a single facility hospital located in Albany, NY. Effective today, August 10, 2020, they will begin to engage with HealthTrust Workforce Solutions as their Managed Services Provider (MSP) to support consistent protocols for initiating and managing their clinical line of business needs via Workforce 2.0 VMS.

HCA Healthcare East Florida Division (NYSE:HCA), today announced that it has received a donation of 2,800 face shields from Bombardier Aviation, a global leader in the design, manufacturing and entry into service of cutting edge business jets. The shields were delivered to Fort Lauderdale International Airport aboard a Global 7500 aircraft and were transported to HCA’s Supply Chain distribution center. The materials will then be distributed to HCA’s 15-affiliated facilities across East Florida.

The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) was signed into law on June 28, 2018, and went into effect on January 1, 2020. The enforcement date for the final regulations is July 1, 2020. CCPA grants California consumers additional data privacy rights and control over their personal information, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information that businesses collect, as well as additional protections for minors.

At the onset of COVID-19, management and conservation of personal protective equipment became a crucial part of the equation to ensure our frontline caregivers are supported as they care for patients.

While our 4^th of July celebrations may feel a bit subdued as we continue to practice social distancing, the reason for our celebration shines more brightly than ever before. We feel it is especially important to take a moment to honor those who have dedicated their lives to preserving our freedom, calling to mind the core values our country was built upon.  

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) June 2020 Hiring Situation reported that payrolls grew by 4.8 million last month.  Higher than the 3 million jobs economists have anticipated would be gained.  Unemployment dropped from 13.3% to 11.1% while job growth numbers were the largest since the government started keeping records in 1939 amid what economists believe to be the deepest and shortest recession in American history.
